Have you ever wondered just how they determine how many calories are in your food? I mean really…when I type apple into my calorie counter, are they just throwing a random number at me? Apparently not. I found this article that describes how they do it…pretty complicated to me, but apparently they know what they are talking about! It can be as easy as just burning the food, but most companies choose to freeze it in liquid nitrogen. That’s when the chemistry happens-which happens to be the only class I ever received a C in at college. So that’s about the only analysis I’m going to give…happy reading!
